Profile
At Kyoto Institute of Technology (KIT), we take pride in being located in Kyoto, Japan's old capital for over 1200 years. In fact, our unique character partly derives from the close ties we maintain with Kyoto's culture and industry. International students and local students alike benefit from KIT's relatively small student body, which enables us to nurture budding researchers and designers. For over a century, building on the work of our two predecessors, Kyoto College of Technology (est. 1902) and Kyoto College of Textile Fibers (est. 1899), KIT has responded rapidly and consistently to social and economic changes, graduating researchers, designers and engineers who make significant academic, artistic, cultural and industrial contributions.
