Special Programs for International Students
Academic program offered at the International Exchange Center in Hirosaki University is of two holds. First, we have Japanese Language Program where most of international students receive trainings ranging from elementary to advanced Japanese. Our second program makes us unique among Japanese National Universities. We have sets of courses taught in English in Japanese business, cultural, and social studies. While some of these courses are as handy as serving as introduction to Japan, there are courses providing rigorous academic training in depth by qualified teaching staffs. We therefore recommend those students who feel comfortable in studying in English language to study in academic fields including social sciences here with us in Hirosaki University. The quiet city of Hirosaki gives students ideal studying environment Including moderate level of expenses for living as well as cultural entertainments from season to season in a year.
Service for International Students
SCHOLARSHIP: Scholarships are available to privately-funded students. Selection is based on the applicants' scholastic records and other factors. Not all students can get scholarships. Comments & Latest Information
We are dedicated to answering to the diverse academic and social needs of our exchange students, and giving them the personalized assistance they need to succeed in their studies abroad. They are not only provided with frequent opportunities to consult with teaching and administrative staff, but are also encouraged to take advantage of our tandem directory which helps them forge links with Japanese students with similar interests and our home visit program which enables them to meet families off campus. Consequently, our exchange students are given an active role both in our university and the community surrounding it. We similarly encourage our Japanese students who we send to our exchange partners to contribute to the institutions and communities in which they are placed.
