Tokyo Metropolitan University is the only one public university in Tokyo, and one of the leading Japanese research universities which aims to sustain the high standards in both research and education. All of the campuses of TMU are located in Tokyo, the host city for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2020. In the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2014-2015, TMU received the highest score of 100.0 for citations and is ranked the 7th among the Japanese Universities.
