The University of Tokyo consists of 10 faculties,15 graduate schools, 11 affiliated research institutes,35 university-wide centers and various other large and small research and educational facilities promoting diverse advanced research and educational activities. It has about 7,600 teaching and administrative staff on three campuses at Hongo, Komaba and Kashiwa. As of May 2010, The University of Tokyo had 2,872 registered internationl students, which correspond to about 10% of the total number of students. Envisaging a university open to the world, The University of Tokyo is aiming to improve its environments and terms for students from overseas so that they may enjoy a more meaningful campus life at The University of Tokyo.

Service for International Students
A tutoring system for International students is offered, as are classes on Japanese language and culture. In certain fields courses are offered in English. The International Center offers advice as well as cultural and language training. Offices for International students in individual faculties also provide various forms of assistance. International lodges provide residential facilities for individuals, couples and families.
